The U-17 Boys of the Nest take a 3-0 lead over Botafogo in the first half and are in the Copa Rio final! Playing at home, on the sacred ground of Gávea, Mengão dominated the match, with goals from David, Felipe Teresa, and Lucyan securing qualification and a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Race, love, passion, and the Rubro-Negro DNA were present this Saturday morning (June 10th) in Gávea. Needing to overcome a two-goal lead, the team led by coach Leonardo Ramos was intense from the opening whistle until the end of the game in search of qualification for the final of the Copa Rio Sub-06.

Just five minutes in, this resulted in a goal. Fabricio Lentz received the ball on the left and found the perfect cross for David to open the scoring at Gávea. Balanced offensively and defensively, Mengão used possession to deny their opponents numerous chances. And before the timeout, they quickly leveled the score and regained the lead. Felipe Teresa received a great pass on the right and bet on a one-on-one. The number 5 beat the defender to score Mengão's second goal!

With a two-goal lead, Flamengo completely dominated the match. Consequently, the third goal came in the first half. Fabricio once again came close, crossed into the box, and full-back Lucyan, acting as a center forward, scored the third! 

The hot weather in Rio de Janeiro's southern zone also heightened tensions on the field, especially given that it was a decisive derby. The referee, intent on controlling the match, handed out yellow cards to both teams, five to Flamengo alone. Two of them ended up going to Felipe Lima, who was sent off before halftime.

At the start of the second half, the referee issued a direct red card to Botafogo's Adriano for a dangerous foul in midfield. Thus, with the score at 10-10, Mengão's U-17 side relied on attacking transitions and possession to control the second half.
