In a match valid for the tenth round of the Guanabara U-20 Cup, the Garotos do Ninho hosted Bangu on Wednesday afternoon (22.03) in Gávea. In addition to maintaining their perfect 100% record playing at home (six wins in six games), the 4-0 rout (Bernardo, Rafael, Vinícius Souza and Bill) gave Flamengo the sole leadership of Group A of the competition with 22 points, ahead of Botafogo, who has 20 and plays against Fluminense this Thursday, and consolidated their record as the best attack in the entire State championship, now with 29 goals scored in ten games. In the next round, the Mais Querido plays the classic against Vasco, on Sunday (26.03) at 10 am, in Gávea, with open gates for the Nation to attend and support the team.

Continuing their season-long tradition, especially in matches at Gávea, the Boys from the Nest imposed intense pressure early in the match. The tactic once again paid off. Just four minutes in, Patrick delivered a perfect free kick that reached defender Bernardo, who just glanced it away to open the scoring. Soon after, in the tenth minute, Kleber delivered a perfect corner kick that reached Rafael, who rose high into the fourth floor to score the second, demonstrating that Mengão's defensive duo is also capable in the aerial game. Aware of the challenges their opponent could pose, Flamengo simply held on until the end of the first half.

The second half started much the same as the first. In the third minute, Vinicius Souza played a one-two with Lucas Silva, burst into the box, and slotted a shot into the corner for a stunning goal. In the 3th minute, Kleber made a solo run and fired a powerful shot, which goalkeeper Caio made a good save. In the 20th minute, Pedrão took a dangerous free kick, but Gabriel Batista made a good save. In the 36th minute, the rout turned. Gabriel Silva led a quick counterattack and passed to Loran, who left Bill face-to-face with the goal. He calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper and sealed another great victory for the Garotos do Ninho in the U-38 State Championship.

"Our team has been constantly evolving in the competition. Our players masterfully understand our philosophy and our game plan, and that's crucial. Today we faced a dangerous opponent, fourth in Group B. But we played very well, achieved an excellent victory, and it's important that we continue to score and stay on top. When we play collectively, individual talent always shines through. That's always our priority," said coach Gilmar Popoca.
