On the second day of the Flamengo adidas Cup U-16, presented by Indrive, Flamengo was defeated by Braga 3-2 on Wednesday morning (11), at Ninho do Urubu. Kaio Gomes and Victor Hugo scored the goals for the red-black team. The Garotos do Ninho face Alianza Lima this Thursday (12) in search of their first victory in the competition. 

The game
Less than a minute in, the Ninho Boys opened the scoring! On their first attack, Daniel delivered a beautiful pass to Kaio Gomes, who put Mengão ahead early in the match: 1-0.  

After the goal, the red-and-black team controlled possession and exchanged passes in the attacking half. In one of the few attacking breakthroughs, Braga equalized through Idrissa Dahaba, making it 1-1. At the 24th minute, the Portuguese team scored the second goal through Med, making it 2-1. Flamengo sought an equalizer before halftime, but the first half ended with the Portuguese team ahead.

At the start of the second half, Braga extended their lead with Rafael, who finished first time at the far post: 3-1. Looking for a reaction, Ryan Roberto hit a shot from the edge of the box and the goalkeeper jumped to the corner to palm it away.

In the 25th minute, Flamengo pulled one back. Enzo made a great play down the left and crossed low for Victor Hugo to finish first time into the net: 3-2. In the final minutes, the Boys from the Nest went all out in search of an equalizer, but were unable to do so and left the field with the loss.

Rubro-Negro returns to the field this Thursday to face Alianza Lima, at 9 am, at Ninho do Urubu, for the third round of the Flamengo Adidas Cup Sub-16.
