Ninho Boys win with authority in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship
Flamengo defeats Red Bull Bragantino 3-0 away from home in the seventh round of the competition.
By Communication - inThe Garotos do Ninho did well in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship. Playing away from home, they took no notice of Red Bull Bragantino and won 3-0, this Wednesday (18), at the Nabi Abi Chedid Stadium, in Bragança Paulista. Ryan Roberto, twice, and João Vitor scored the goals of the match, valid for the sixth round of the competition.
The kids started the match strong. And just two minutes in, Ryan Roberto broke through on the left and nearly scored Mengão's first goal. On the next play, this time on the right, João Vitor nearly scored a stunning goal with a chip. In another good attack, Matheus Tiago made another good play.
With a corner kick directly on goal, Red Bull Bragantino first threatened. João Vitor's shot in the 24th minute was met by a fine save from goalkeeper João Madeira. Later in the first half, in the 43rd minute, the São Paulo team nearly opened the scoring, but the red-and-black defense managed to keep it out.
Soon after, Ryan Roberto made a good play on the left side of the box and was awarded a penalty. He struck it himself, powerfully into the right corner of the goal, which the goalkeeper jumped to the other side, scoring the first goal for the Red-Blacks in the 46th minute. The referee blew the final whistle a minute later.
The second goal came in the 5th minute of the second half, when João Vitor made a beautiful individual play down the right, shot hard, the goalkeeper released the ball, and, on the rebound, Rafael Henrique tried a backheel. The opposing defender handled the ball, committing a penalty. Once again, Ryan Roberto stepped up to take the shot, this time into the left corner, and scored the second for Mengão and his second of the game.
The red-and-black team, led by Daniel Franklin, continued to dominate the match, thwarting Bragantino's defense, which barely troubled them. Then, in a classic counterattack, Levy Dias won the ball back in defense, passed it to João Vitor, who advanced unmarked and scored Flamengo's third in the 30th minute. The number 10 delivered a quality shot into the right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.
In the 34th minute, defender Daniel Carvalho handled the ball inside the box: a penalty for Red Bull, saved by goalkeeper Dudu Clasen. The match proceeded without any major moves until the final whistle. Flamengo secured its third victory in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship, with nine points so far.
Now, the red-black team will face Cuiabá, in a week, Wednesday (25), at 14:45 pm, at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea, for the seventh round of the competition.
