Playing the bottom match of the double round this Saturday (29), at Cefan (Penha), Flamengo easily beat Audax-RJ, 4-0, in a match valid for the seventh round of the competition. The result kept Flamengo (undefeated in Copa Rio), close to the leader.

With a team largely made up of the U-16 team, which is preparing for major competitions in the coming months, Flamengo started the first half with great energy. In the 10th minute, they opened the scoring with a beautiful free kick: 1-0. In the 27th minute, Giovanni nearly extended the lead with a header. Two lightning goals followed shortly after: Edmilson, from the penalty spot, and Santini, in the 30th and 32nd minutes.

In the second half, with the score practically locked in, coach Raphael Bahia took the opportunity to rotate his team even more, making the six substitutions allowed by the rules. And with the final substitution, Douglas Telles (replacing Pedro Nunes) made a fine individual play and sealed his victory: a 4-0 final score.

Mengão U-17 will play again next Saturday, when they will face Resende, at 13 pm, in Gávea.
