Ninho Boys turn the tables on Atlético-MG and take the lead in the Under-17 Brasileirão
Rubro-Negro reached 13 points in Group B of the competition
By Victor andrade - inFlamengo U-17s came from behind to defeat Atlético-MG 3-2 on the sacred grounds of Gávea on Wednesday afternoon, September 7th, in a match valid for the sixth round of the Brasileirão in that category. The goals were scored by Wallace Yan and Iago, both times. With the victory, the Garotos do Ninho took the lead in Group B with 13 points, surpassing the Minas Gerais team, which has 12.
The Red-Blacks fell behind on a quick counterattack led by their opponents. However, the concentration of Léo Ramos's team didn't wane, and the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) went in search of an equalizer. In the 12th minute, Iago delivered a beautiful pass to Wallace Yan, who came face to face with goal and calmly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. Before halftime, the comeback came. Eduardo Gabriel took a corner from the left and slotted it perfectly for Iago, the team captain, to tap it into the back of the net.
After the break, Mengão gave Atlético-MG no time to react and scored the third. Once again, from an aerial play, this time Lorran crossed perfectly for defender Iago to score his second of the match in the 3rd minute of the second half. The opposing team reduced the lead near the end of the game, but Flamengo withstood the pressure and secured the three points.
