Boys debut in the Rio Cup

U-20 returns to the field against Audax, this Wednesday

After reaching the semifinals of the Guanabara Cup, the first round of the U-20 Carioca Championship, Flamengo's juniors return to the field for the Rio Cup. The boys face Audax Rio, this Wednesday (16.04), at 15 pm, at the Arthur Sendas stadium.

Since March 29, when they played the second leg of the semifinal against Nova Iguaçu, at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium, the boys have not been on the field, but they have continued training hard during this period and are working to repeat the good performance of the first round.

Marcelo Buarque's team will face 15 rounds of points-based competition to fight for a spot in the semifinals. The Taça Rio champion will face Fluminense, the Taça Guanabara champion, for the Campeonato Carioca title.

Jajá is called up to the youth team

Coach Alexandre Gallo called up the red-black midfielder Jajá for the Brazilian Under-21 team's training period in Mogi das Cruzes, which is part of the preparation for the Toulon Tournament. 

The competition in France begins on May 20th. The traditional friendly tournament between youth teams has been taking place since 1967. This year, Brazil is defending its title in the competition, which will feature youth teams from Qatar, Colombia, South Korea, Chile, France, England, Mexico, and Portugal.
