The celebration of a potential São Paulo Cup title next Tuesday (January 25.01) would have a special flavor for the Santos family. With twin brothers Alex on the right wing and Anderson on the left, the joy would be doubled. Aware of this, both promise to dedicate themselves fully to bringing this trophy back to Gávea, 20 years after the title won by the generation of Marcelinho, Djalminha, and company.
Anderson can't hide his joy at securing a spot in the penalty shootout final against Desportivo Brasil. Eager to get back on the field, he's confident of another strong performance against Bahia to win the title.
"We are very happy to have qualified for the final and we will go after the title because we want to make history at Flamengo. This will be important for the club and for our careers, because we are just starting out. Everyone wants the game to arrive quickly, but everyone is calm, and when the time comes, we will go all out. God willing, we will win," said the number 6, who called on the Red-Black Nation to fill Pacaembu on Tuesday.
"I'd like to ask the fans to come here to São Paulo to support us, to give strength to our team, because this group here deserves it. We went through difficult times and they were with us. Now that we're doing well, we want them with us too," he asked.
Alex took the opportunity to thank not only the support of the "anonymous" fans, but also the members of the red-black professional team, who have been watching the kids' games.
"I heard that the professional guys are following along. That's really cool. I appreciate their support and I hope we can win this title, like they did with the 2009 Brazilian Championship," he added.
