The excellent work that Flamengo has been doing for years in its youth academy has been reflected in financial and sporting returns for the club. With an eye on the well-being and development of its Garotos do Ninho, the youth football pedagogy and supervision team held a gymkhana this Thursday afternoon (11) with approximately 30 athletes housed at the George Helal Training Center - Ninho do Urubu.

With Children's Day approaching, the pedagogy team was able to offer athletes between the ages of 14 and 17 a free and enjoyable afternoon, so they could rediscover their childlike spirit while also developing the skills and competencies essential for high-performance players.

"Because they were staying at the Training Center, we wanted to give them a free afternoon to playfully work on issues related to cooperation, teamwork, and other essential skills for athletes. The event was a partnership between the pedagogy department and the youth team supervisors. We were able to provide an afternoon where the boys recaptured the spirit of Children's Day," says Gabriela Espinhoza, a social worker for the youth team and one of the organizers of the activity.

Accompanied by supervisors from the U-15 and U-17 categories, the boys were divided into two groups: the Golden Rocket and Team Rodolfo. They competed in a challenge that included games like "panobol," tug-of-war, tic-tac-toe, and pie in the face. At the end of the activities, they shared their favorite treats: hot dogs, popcorn, cheese bread, cake, soda, and other treats.
