U-20 boys beat Vasco 4-1 away from home; Douglas Baggio and Renan Donizete score two goals each
By Communication - Official Club Website - inIn the six-point derby against Vasco, the youth team performed well, thrashing the Vasco da Gama team 4-1 away from home. Renan Donizete (twice) and Douglas Baggio (twice) were responsible for putting the ball in the opponent's net at the Itaguaí training center. The match was part of the eighth round of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship. With the result, Flamengo remained in the top four, qualifying for the semifinals, in fourth place with 4 points, five behind leaders Nova Iguaçu.
The U-20 team demonstrated that the entire week of training, without any matches during the period, was beneficial for the boys' chemistry. In addition to the standout performances of Renan and Douglas, who each scored twice, Caio Quiroga was the boys' waiter, providing the assist for each goal.
"Our team was better on the field, and I went in thinking I was going to score. Thank God I played well and scored. I think it was my best performance this year. I was very happy to score two goals in a derby against Vasco and for the result, which was thanks to the whole team. I'm feeling very comfortable with Marcelo (Buarque, the team's coach); he's a great professional and is helping our team with every game," said Douglas Baggio.
The Rubro-Negro's next match is scheduled for next Wednesday (19.02), against Madureira, at 15:30 pm, at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium. Tricolor Suburbano is in second place, two points ahead of Mais Querido, which makes the match a direct confrontation for second place in the Taça Guanabara table.
