Flamengo's resounding victory in the Rio Cup U-16
Flamengo beat Serra Macaense 6-0 in a match played at Gávea.
By Communication - inIn an inspired afternoon, Flamengo beat Serra Macaense, from Macaé, a city in the northern region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, 6-0 in their debut in the Copa Rio Sub-16, this Saturday (16), in a match played at the José Bastos Padilha Stadium, in Gávea. Meanwhile, the Flamengo U-15 and U-17 categories continued their Taça Guanabara campaign with matches against Sampaio Corrêa, away from home, at the Lourival Gomes Stadium, in Saquarema, on the same day. The first team won 2-0, while the second was defeated 2-1.
In the first round of the Rio Cup U-16, Flamengo had a great start. They scored four goals in the first half, netted by Felipe Pina, José Eduardo, Marcelo Portela, and Ricardo (from a penalty). In the second half, Marcelo Portela scored the fifth goal, his second of the match, and Leandro Gustavo sealed the victory.
In the double-header played in Saquarema, for the 11th round of the Taça Guanabara, the penultimate round of the Carioca qualifying phase, the under-15 team beat the home team, with goals scored in the second half. Dadá opened the scoring in the 8th minute, after an assist from Brayan, and Bezinnho sealed the victory by scoring the second goal in the 22nd minute. The under-17 team, however, was defeated 2-1. Pedrinho scored the Flamengo goal.
