Goalkeeper for the under-20s and professional teams, Luan has an intense training routine.
The 20-year-old is on loan at Flamengo and says he is fulfilling a dream by training with his idol Felipe.
By Communication - Official Club Website - inFirst to arrive and last to leave. This is a goalkeeper's routine in every training session. In Luan's case, the work is even tougher. The 20-year-old joins the youth team and trains with Flamengo's senior team.
"For me, it's great because I'm just starting out, and the more I work, the better. I'm taking the experience I gained in the professional team to the U-20s. I'm progressing well and I enjoy my routine. I'm very challenged, but the rewards come," said the goalkeeper.
Luan is currently on loan at Flamengo. He joined the club in September 2012 from Figueirense. Since then, the Santa Catarina native has won two titles with the Mais Querido youth team: the 2012 Otávio Pinto Guimarães Tournament and the 2013 Rio Cup.
The young goalkeeper participated in Flamengo's final preseason training camp in January. Since then, he has been training more with the senior team. Typically, on weekends, he drops down to the youth team for official matches. When he's with the senior squad, training involves much more than just repeating movements for Luan. Being alongside such greats in the position, like Felipe and Paulo Victor, is magical and fulfilling.
"It's a dream come true. I've watched Felipe on TV since I was little, and now training alongside him is great. He and Paulo Victor, with whom I have the most contact, are role models for me," said the red-and-black prospect.
Since the U-20s are on vacation and the seniors only return from their short break next Monday (17.06/XNUMX), Luan went to Florianópolis to enjoy a well-deserved break. "Being in Florianópolis is good for relaxing. My training schedule is intense and I haven't had a vacation in almost two years. I'm relaxing to come back with everything after the Confederations Cup," said the goalkeeper.
