In search of an unprecedented classification for the semifinal, Flamengo faces Vasco this Wednesday (21), in São Januário, at 16:30 pm, for the 3rd round of the second phase of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship. After beating Fluminense and Coritiba, a victory over the Cruzmaltino leaves the Garotos do Ninho in the isolated leadership of group F, which can lead to classification even with the return leg to be played.

Although the teams' record has been evenly matched this year, with one win each and one draw, Flamengo is enjoying a better run in the Brasileirão. They have four consecutive wins, while their rivals have yet to win in the second phase. Defender Hugo Moura rejected the odds of being favorites in the derby and urged maximum concentration to leave São Januário with all three points.

"I don't think there are favorites in classics. Regardless of the situation and the moment, they're always very difficult and evenly matched. We know the importance of victory and we'll go out there very focused, from the first minute to the last, to achieve a positive result even playing away from home," said the Flamengo captain, who lifted the Carioca trophy, which they won against Vasco earlier in the season.

Hugo was involved in the conquest of the fourth Copinha championship, the State title and the international Dossena Trophy tournament in Italy and now he wants to end his time in the youth team by winning the Brazilian championship, an unprecedented title in the category.

"Winning is always great, but wearing the Sacred Mantle is even better. This year we were champions at a packed Pacaembú stadium and also at the Maracanã stadium with our fans, and we know how wonderful that feeling is. We always want more, and a Brazilian title, still unheard of for the club in this category, would be a perfect cap for our time in the youth ranks," concluded the midfielder.

Flamengo x Vasco:

Flamengo has been having a great campaign in the Brasileirão, with three wins and one loss in the first phase, securing first-place qualification. In the second phase, Flamengo has already accumulated two wins and leads Group F with six points. Klebinho, Vitor Gabriel, and Wendel are the team's top scorers with three goals each.

The Cruzmaltina team's campaign in the first phase of the Brazilian Championship includes two wins and two draws, placing them in first place. In the second phase of the national competition, the team from São Januário is still winless and sits in third place in Group F with one point.
