This Thursday (11), coach Carlos Amadeu called up the Brazilian U20 team for the Toulon Tournament, held in France. The traditional competition will take place from May 31st. In the list, Flamengo has three representatives: goalkeeper Hugo, midfielder Vinícius Souza and left-back Michael.
The players are scheduled to be introduced at Granja Comary on May 21st, to begin their preparations. They will have five days of training at the training center before traveling to France. A total of 20 players have been called up, all between the ages of 17 and 18.
"It's a great honor to be able to defend my country's colors. I'd like to thank, first and foremost, the entire coaching staff and all my teammates here at Flamengo, because I know that without them this call-up wouldn't have happened. I'd also like to thank my family, who played a fundamental role in this. It will be a unique and incredible experience," said Vinícius.
Brazil, the two-time Toulon Tournament champion, debuts on May 31st against Indonesia. The team then faces Scotland on the 3rd and the Czech Republic on the 6th.
