Unbeaten this year, Flamengo U-16 beats Cuiabá and is the undefeated champion of the Brasil Soccer Cup
A 2-1 victory gives the category its third title of the year, and it remains undefeated. The red-and-black youth team wins its 19th trophy of the season.

Mengão's U-16 team remains undefeated in 2022. After winning the Olaria Renovado Cup and the Brasileirinho Internacional Cup undefeated under the command of coach Leo Ramos, who after the titles moved up to the U-17, on the afternoon of this Friday (29) the Garotos do Ninho, who are now commanded by Eduardo Zuma, were crowned champions of the Brasil Soccer Cup also undefeated, after beating Cuiabá 2-1 in the final (Felipe Lima and Pedro Nunes). In the campaign, Mais Querido beat Palmeiras, Atlético MG, Macaé, Vasco and São Paulo, before overcoming the Cuiabanos in the grand final. It was the 19th title won by the red-black youth football team so far in the 2022 season.
The game
The first half was all Flamengo. Much the better team, Mengão came out pressing, and created a great chance in the sixth minute, with a powerful shot from Guilherme's edge of the box. The ball was headed for the top corner, but goalkeeper Rhyan made a spectacular save and palmed it away for a corner. Shortly thereafter, in the eighth minute, the Garotos do Ninho opened the scoring. Germano delivered a perfect cross, and Felipe Lima headed in with style. Flamengo continued to dominate the game, but held the score until halftime.
Four minutes into the second half, Alex received the ball in the box and fired a cross that drew another great save from Rhyan. In the 23rd minute, Pedro Nunes came on for Lucas Silva. A minute later, he received the ball from Gusttavo and fired a superb shot into Rhyan's right corner to extend the red-and-blacks' lead. In the 27th minute, Cuiabá pulled one back through Murilo, but lacked the strength to equalize.
