An impeccable performance. Playing in Gávea on Wednesday afternoon (28), Flamengo's U-20 team hosted América, the competition's only undefeated team, in a match valid for the semifinal of the Guanabara Cup in the category. With a classic performance, the Mais Querido applied an irrefutable 8-0 (Lucas Silva [4], Vitor Gabriel, Michael [2] and Wendel), a score that was still small given the red-black superiority in the game and the number of scoring chances created throughout the 90 minutes. Qualified for the final with seven wins in eight games, Flamengo faces Botafogo in the single-match decision. The classic will be played at Nilton Santos, on a date and time yet to be announced by the Federation.

Flamengo opened the scoring in the first minute. Patrick passed to Lucas Silva, who controlled the ball and headed it to Vitor Gabriel. He burst into the box and, with a flick, tapped it into the back of the net. Flamengo started the match relentlessly and soon scored their second. In the ninth minute, Lucas Silva received the ball at the edge of the box and chipped it under goalkeeper Gustavo to extend the lead. The pressure was suffocating. In the 11th minute, Patrick passed to Lucas Silva. He burst into the box with lightning speed and fired a powerful shot over América's goal. It was all Flamengo, and the third goal was already beginning to mature. In the 13th minute, Vitor Gabriel received the ball high and struck a beautiful first-time shot that sailed just wide of Gustavo's right crossbar.

In the 23rd minute, a beautiful attacking triangle from Mais Querido almost resulted in another goal. Bill crossed into the box for Vitor Gabriel. He back-heeled the ball to Lucas Silva, who struck first-time, but Gustavo saved brilliantly, preventing the goal with the tip of his left foot. In the 25th minute, the third goal came. Pepê arrived well and crossed for Lucas Silva, who shot past the goalkeeper, further extending the red-and-blacks' lead heading into the Taça Guanabara final. The rout turned in the first half. In the 37th minute, Lucas Silva received the ball unmarked at the edge of the box and scored his third of the game, and the fourth for the Boys of the Nest, who added another in the first half. Michael burst into the box, free and unmarked, and scored the fifth past the goalkeeper. 

With the game practically decided, the second half began with a cowardly and inexplicable attack by defender Reis on Vitor Gabriel. Lying on the ground, the Flamengo center forward was kicked by the América player. After widespread confusion, the referee decided to send off both players. After nearly ten minutes of stoppage time, the ball resumed play, and Flamengo continued to dominate. In the tenth minute, Bill received the ball unmarked and shot wide. In the 15th minute, Lucas Silva received the ball from Michael and scored his fourth goal of the match, becoming the competition's joint top scorer alongside América's Caju, with five goals.

In the 22nd minute, Pepê left Bill one-on-one with the goal, but he got tangled up in the shot and missed another good chance. The seventh goal (don't lose count!) was entirely created by Michael. The full-back made a great individual play, beat three defenders, and was brought down inside the box. He took the penalty himself, displacing goalkeeper Gustavo, giving the red-and-black team another goal and his second of the game. In the 45th minute, Wendel, scorer of the goal that gave them their fourth Copa São Paulo title in January, scored the eighth, completing the biggest rout of the Rio de Janeiro championship thus far.
