The Brazilian U-17 team won the World Cup for the first time, and it was helped by a "Garoto do Ninho" (Nest's Boy). Defender João Victor provided the assist for Brazil's sixth goal and scored Brazil's seventh with a beautiful shot from outside the box in the 9-0 rout of New Caledonia. All this in the Rubro-Negro's debut in the competition.

João Victor's contributions all came in the second half. Without posing any threat defensively against a weaker opponent, the 2007-generation athlete excelled offensively. From a corner kick from the right, the Mengão defender won the ball at the far post and headed it into the middle of the six-yard box for Vitor Reis to score the fifth goal in the 54th minute. But it wasn't long before the "Boy from the Nest" took the blame. In the 60th minute, he received the ball in the middle and unleashed a powerful shot high into the air, leaving the goalkeeper no chance, who watched as the ball bulged into the net. 

In addition to the goalscoring defender, the Brazilian Under-17 team led by Phelipe Leal, who has a stint in Mengão's youth academy, also has more Rubro-Negros on the team: attacking midfielder Lorran, who came on in the second half of Brazil's first victory; physical trainer Junior Bezerra and performance analyst Douglas Barbosa.
