Last Wednesday (29.04), Flamengo's junior left-back Jorge was called up to the Brazilian National Team in the category, as well as his teammate JajáThe young red-and-blacks are part of the group competing in the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, from May 30 to June 20 of this year. Jorge couldn't hide his joy at being among coach Alexandre Gallo's selection team and explained how he found out the news.

"I was still in the locker room when I went online and saw my name on the list. There's no better feeling than playing in a World Cup for my country. I can only thank Flamengo for having so much faith in my work during all the years I've been at the club. I'm very grateful to God for everything He's done in my life," said the athlete.

The player assures Flamengo fans that they can expect a lot of dedication and learning from this new experience outside of Brazil. "I've already had the opportunity to play professionally, and the Flamengo Nation knows my style. I will always work to bring joy to the fans. This call-up will change many things in my life at Flamengo and will allow me to grow even more professionally. It's a dream come true, and now I'll seize the opportunity to defend my country," he concluded.
