Galhardo believes Flamengo has the ability to overtake Vasco in the competition table

With a 1-0 loss to Madureira last Saturday, Flamengo's youth team moved further ahead of Vasco in the Taça Rio standings, the second round of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship. The Cruzmaltinos beat Bangu 4-2 and reached 23 points, four more than the Rubro-Negro and Tricolor Suburbano, who both have 19.
Right-back Rafael Galhardo, who will be joining the professional squad on Tuesday, still doesn't know if he will face Resende next Wednesday in Gávea and the derby against Vasco next weekend, but he continues to support his teammates.
"I don't know if I'll play yet, because there will be a break with the professional team. I should know about that when I return. The derby against Vasco will be very important, and if I can, I'd like to be on the field. It's the kind of game anyone likes to play," he said.
Regarding the match against Madureira, Galhardo preferred not to lament. The number 2 believes the team has what it takes to take first place in the Taça Rio. The competition is now in its tenth round, with five matches remaining after this one.
"Madureira played all the way back, and because of a mistake we made, they scored from a penalty. We created chances, we did everything we could, but unfortunately, it wasn't the day the ball went in. But nothing is lost. The situation got a little complicated, but the championship is long and there can still be mistakes from those ahead of us," he added.
