Flamengo Juniors begin preparations for the Taça BH in June
The Under-20 team will also compete in the Copa do Brasil, the Otavio Pinto Guimarães Tournament and the Brasilerão in 2013

However, the rest has an end date. On June 24th, the squad will return to training, aiming for the Taça BH competition.
"On June 24th, preparations begin for the Taça BH, which starts in August. In addition to training at Ninho do Urubu and Gávea, we are planning four to six friendly matches. The training sessions are also aimed at the Copa do Brasil, which will start a little later, but without a defined date yet," said Carlos Noval, executive director of Flamengo's youth football program.
Flamengo has a good track record in the Taça BH. In 28 editions of the competition, the Rubro-Negro reached six finals and brought the trophy to Gávea in three of them. Last year, the team, already led by current coach Cleber dos Santos, finished in second place.
Some players who participated in the 2012 Taça BH campaign are now part of the professional squad, such as Rafinha and César. In addition to them, eleven other players who came up through the club's youth system are currently training with the first team.
"It's a continuation of the work. Our goal here at the youth academy is this: to prepare the boys for the first team. Every time a player moves up to the professional team, we feel fulfilled because our job is being done," said Carlos Noval.
