Flamengo and Sevilla (ESP) will battle for a spot in the Eurofarma Junior Football Super Cup final this Friday (July 30.07th) at 15:30 pm at Arena Barueri in São Paulo. After three wins in the competition, Flamengo will try to maintain its 100% record against its European rival, who has already lost one match. In the other semifinal, Santos and Peñarol face off at 18:30 pm at the same venue.
And beyond the international clashes, the competition is marked by another characteristic: the games played day after day. To avoid fatigue, Flamengo coach Paulo Henrique has already given his players the recipe: focus on results.
"The team is confident. Despite the fatigue from playing so many games in so few days, everyone is doing well. Everyone knew the competition would be like this, and so we need to be very determined to continue achieving good results. If we maintain everything we did in the other games, we can indeed reach the final," explained Paulo Henrique.
One of the team's standouts, right-back Galhardo has been instrumental in helping the team, whether through flank play, creating plays, or scoring goals. Even so, he, already a member of the professional squad, isn't boastful.
"I'm very happy to help the team, but the important thing is that the team is playing well. That's more important than individual excellence. Flamengo is playing well, winning, and it would be great if any other player decided the games. What matters is advancing to the final and winning another title," said the young fullback.
Sevilla arrives at the semifinals in high spirits, having thrashed Argentina's Boca Juniors 5-0 in their last match. However, the Spanish team lost striker Jose Manuel Rodriguez, who fractured his tibia and fibia in a clash with the Argentine goalkeeper.
