With a last-minute comeback, Flamengo's youth team defeated Vasco 2-1 this Wednesday (06.06), in Gávea, in a match valid for the penultimate round of the second half of the Campeonato Carioca, the Taça Rio. With the victory in the classic, Flamengo reached 29 points in the standings, reducing the advantage over leaders Fluminenses and Nova Iguaçu, with 31 points.

The first half of the match started very evenly, with both teams focused on defense. Neither team created much attacking play, and it remained that way until the end, ending 0-0.

In the second half, Vasco opened the scoring in the eighth minute, but the Gávea boys, motivated and driven on the field, managed to demonstrate organization and turn the game around. Lucas tied the match in the 43rd minute, and the victory came with a goal from Rodolfo, who received a low pass and tapped it into the net, cementing the victory in the 46th minute.

The junior team returns to play this Sunday (10.06), against Americano, in Campos dos Goytacazes, at 15 pm.
