Juniors draw 2-2 with Macaé

Poor grass and lack of rhythm hurt Flamengo this Saturday

After nearly a month off, Flamengo's youth team returned to the field this Saturday. Flamengo remained undefeated in the competition. They drew 2-2 with Macaé, reaching 20 points and remaining atop the table. The goals were scored by right-back Galhardo and midfielder Dieguinho.

But the result could have been better for Flamengo. According to coach Armênio Moura, if the playing conditions had been more favorable, the team would have played better football.

"It was difficult to play. The pitch was very bad and the refereeing wasn't having a good day either," said the Fla coach.

Armênio recalled that the team had been playing great football before the championship was suspended. Now, however, they need a sequence of matches to return to their best form.

"Of course the team feels it. We went almost a month without playing and lost momentum. Only by playing will we recover that," explained Armênio.

The Rio de Janeiro State Football Federation (FERJ) overturned the injunction that prohibited matches from being played between 10 a.m. and 17 p.m. As a result, the Professional Series B and Junior Series A State Championships resumed this weekend.

Next Sunday, in Gávea, Flamengo will face Madureira, at 16 pm.
