The loss to América last Wednesday ended Flamengo's junior team's mathematical chances of winning the Taça Guanabara, the first round of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship. Even so, this Saturday, the youth team returns to the field to face Friburguense at Eduardo Guinle Stadium at 13:30 p.m. The match concludes the Flamengo youth team's participation in this stage of the competition and is already seen by the players as a chance to begin preparations for the Taça Rio.

The red-and-blacks debut in the second round of the Carioca next weekend. The youngsters will go to Marrentão to face Duque de Caxias at 15:30 pm. In the Guanabara Cup, the overwhelming favorite is Fluminense, which currently leads the standings and hosts Macaé in Xerém. The winner of the first round will face the champion of the second round in the championship final. For right-back Galhardo, it's time to work hard.

"Unfortunately, that defeat ended up taking away our chances of winning the Guanabara Cup, but we can't get discouraged. We have to start thinking about the Rio Cup now," the player explained.
