Juniors face Bangu in Moça Bonita
Coach Armênio Moura's team remains firm in the fight for the state title in the category
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inThe start of the year has been encouraging, and this Sunday, Flamengo's youth team takes the field to confirm its good form and continue the impeccable campaign the red-and-blacks have had so far in the U-20 State Championship. Granted, the team only played two matches in the competition, but the victories were encouraging, and the young talents of Ninho do Urubu hope to repeat that success this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in Moça Bonita.
\Defender and team captain Christianno warns that the team is immune to any kind of complacency: "We can't relax after these two good results in the first few games. The team played well and managed comfortable victories, but that doesn't mean anything. We'll keep up the momentum for the rest of the Campeonato Carioca to fight for this title that hasn't been won since 2007. Everyone really wants this trophy."
\Coach Armênio Mouras knows that results fell a little short of expectations last season, but he assures us: it wasn't for lack of work. And, eventually, this effort will be rewarded. "We're working hard and seeing this opportunity mature. We reached the semifinals of the Carioca last year, the quarterfinals of the OPG and the Brazilian Championship, and now we've been eliminated on penalties... We'll work hard to win this title. The Carioca is a long championship, which allows for better utilization of the squad, and I believe we have a good chance."
\Coach Armênio Moura will have the following lineup on the field this Sunday: Marcelo Carné, Alex, Lucas Galdino, Michel Pereira and Jorbison; Luis Antônio, João Vitor, Saba and Dieguinho; Juninho and Diego Maurício.
