Juniors reinforced in Fla x Flu
Camacho and Lenon, who are in the professional team, return to play for the juniors this Saturday
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inFlamengo's youth team will have important reinforcements for the derby against Fluminense this Saturday at Gávea. Seeking to maintain its unbeaten run in the Taça Rio, the second round of the Carioca Under-20 Championship, the Red-Blacks face the team from Laranjeiras at 15 p.m. with their best players. Youngsters Camacho and Lenon, who are part of the senior squad, will be joining the team for the match.
Additionally, coach Paulo Henrique will also have full-backs Galhardo and Jorbison, both of whom have also played professionally. The team's lineup for the derby includes Marcelo Carné, Galhardo, Marlon, Christianno, and Jorbison; Lenon, João Vitor, Guilherme, and Camacho; and Dudu and Diego Maurício.
"It's important to have these players, who have more experience, not only for the group but also for them. It's important that they're playing. In this transition from youth to professional, if a player isn't used in the first team, it's important that they have the opportunity to play in the youth team," analyzed coach Paulo Henrique.
Lenon agrees. The midfielder, who is registered for the Copa Santander Libertadores with the senior team, knows that the fight for a chance on the senior team is tough and believes that playing in a derby, even in the youth team, is always a good opportunity.
"I believe it's a good opportunity to show my worth, without a doubt. Playing for Flamengo, especially a derby, is always a huge responsibility, and I hope to be in good shape to help my teammates achieve victory," said the midfielder.
This season, Camacho and Lenon had yet to play for the youth team. However, the midfielder made two appearances for the senior team, and the defensive midfielder played five matches.
