Flamengo's year-long youth team will be on the field later today at 19 p.m., with the youngsters taking on Náutico in the final round of the Brazilian Under-20 Championship qualifying round. After suffering three late draws in their previous matches in this first stage of the tournament, coach Armênio Moura's team needs to beat the Pernambuco side to maintain their chances of securing a spot in the quarterfinals.

On Monday night in Santa Rosa, Palmeiras and Goiás played to a scoreless draw, while Coritiba defeated Náutico 4-2. Coritiba and Goiás lead the group with five points each from three games. Náutico is third with three points, and Flamengo, which had a bye this round, is fourth with three points. Palmeiras is in last place, tied with the Pernambuco and Rio de Janeiro teams, but has already played its four games and has no chance of qualifying.

In the final round, this Wednesday, Flamengo faces Náutico, and leaders Coritiba and Goiás face off. Therefore, Mengão remains in with a chance of qualifying for the next stage. A victory could secure the Flamengo team a spot in the quarterfinals. Therefore, the discouragement after three consecutive draws has turned into hope and confidence that the team can finally win and take the lead in the tournament.

"Thank God, all the results in our group were favorable to Flamengo. We're still in the fight. We're going after Náutico," celebrated right-back Rafael Galhardo.

Goalkeeper Marcelo Carné also celebrated the results, but warned: the red-and-black team has to do its part. For the number 1, the team cannot repeat the mistakes it made in previous matches and must be as focused as possible in pursuit of a victory against Náutico and, consequently, a spot in the quarterfinals.

\

"We are still alive. It just depends on us," he added.

The red-black team should enter the field for this decisive match with the following lineup: Marcelo Carné, Galhardo, Lucas, Michel, Cristiano and Anderson; Luiz Antônio, João Vitor and Saba; Dieguinho and Diego Maurício.
