Flamengo's youth team will have an important match next week in Barueri, in the interior of São Paulo. The red-and-black team, led by coach Paulo Henrique, will compete in an international tournament, the Eurofarma Super Cup. Corinthians, Flamengo, Palmeiras, and Santos are the national representatives. The international guests are Boca Juniors (ARG), Peñarol (URU), Porto (POR), and Sevilla (ESP).

Flamengo is in Group A of the competition, along with Porto, Palmeiras, and Peñarol. Group B features Sevilla, Santos, Corinthians, and Boca Juniors. The games will be held at Arena Barueri, which underwent renovations to expand the stands and now has a capacity of 33. The winner of Group A will face the runner-up in Group B, and the winner of Group B will face the runner-up in Group A. The two finalists will be determined based on the results. The grand final will be played on August 1st.

"Last week, we had a strong preseason at Ninho do Urubu, and these days, we've been working in the morning. The tournament is important and will be an opportunity for the team to showcase its football. We talked a lot with Zico and the players about this philosophy, of recapturing Flamengo's characteristics in youth football. The team has been evolving, and I believe it will be a great test for us," said the coach.

Paulo Henrique has been training the team with Cesar, Galhardo, China, Marlon, and Jorbison; Maycon, João Vitor, Guilherme, and Eliabe; Carlyle and Dudu. Right-back Galhardo, who spent the preseason with the professional group in Itu, also spoke about the competition.

"It's going to be an interesting tournament. We'll be playing against very strong international and national teams, and I think it's always important to be playing and not just training," he added.

The red-black delegation leaves for São Paulo on Sunday and makes its debut in the competition next Monday (26.07), against Peñarol. On Tuesday (27.07), the team faces Porto, and completes its campaign in the first phase on Thursday (29.07), against Palmeiras.
