Flamengo's youth team defeated Resende 3-1 on Saturday afternoon (17.05), at Nivaldo Pereira Stadium, in the tenth round of the Rio Cup. The team returned to winning ways even without its top scorer, Douglas Baggio, who is suspended.

The red-and-black goals were scored by Marquinhos, Pedro, and Elton, the team's new signing. The team held on for a partial victory with two men down for much of the second half and even extended the lead, scoring a third goal in the final minutes of the match.

With the result, Flamengo moved into third place with 19 points, surpassing Vasco, with the same score, on goal difference. The under-20s will play again next Wednesday (21.05) against Nova Iguaçu, at the opponent's training center, at 10 am.
