After opening the year with the title in the Sebastião Leônidas Tournament, the red-black youth team debuts this Wednesday (30.03) in the Under-17 Brazil Cup. This will be the first competition in which those born in 1999 and 2000 will play together. At Sebastião Leônidas, the competition was divided between the under-19s, played by those born in 1999, and the under-16s, by those born in 2000. In the first match, coach Gilmar Popoca's team faces Náutico, in Recife at 17 pm.

"Expectations are the best possible, we are very confident in the work we did in training. We hope to honor the Sacred Mantle in the best way possible, giving everything on the field," declared the team's defender and captain, Matheus Thuler.

The return leg is scheduled for April 7th at Gávea Stadium. If the team wins by two goals, they will skip the second leg and will face the winner of the match between Sampaio Corrêa and Goiás in the next round.

On Saturday (02.04), the Guanabara Cup begins for the Youth and Children's teams. In the first round, both categories face Portuguesa, at the Luso Brasileiro stadium. The Children's team takes the field at 9 am and the Youth team at 11 am.

Also this Wednesday (30), Juniores takes to the field for the last qualifying round of the Guanabara Cup. After beating América, last Saturday (26), 4-0, with goals from Patrick (3) and Antonio, the team faces Tigres do Brasil. Flamengo needs to win and hope for a Fluminense victory to advance to the semifinal. The match against Tigres takes place at the Gávea stadium, at 11 am.
