Flamengo's under-20 soccer team debuted with a victory in the state championship. On Saturday afternoon (January 18.01), the team came from behind to beat Audax Rio 3-2 at the Gávea social headquarters. The red-and-black goals were scored by Daniel (2) and Leandro.

Without their key players, the group demonstrated its strength by defeating their first opponent in the Campeonato Carioca. Marcio Torres led the team in the triumph, as coach Cleber dos Santos, along with the boys who competed in the Copa São Paulo, was still returning to Rio de Janeiro.

With this result and goal difference, Flamengo finished fifth, tied with five other teams that won their opening matches. The Mais Querido's next match will be on the 22nd, against Volta Redonda, at Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, at 19:30 pm, in the preliminary round of the first team's match.
