A highlight in Flamengo's 7-0 victory over Portuguesa last Saturday (29), in the final round of the Taça Guanabara Sub-17, striker Lázaro commented on winning the championship and his own performance. The number 11 contributed to the red-black triumph with two goals and two assists.

"I'm happy to contribute two goals and two assists, but what really mattered was winning the Guanabara Cup. Our team has been working hard, and God has crowned us with this achievement. We're going strong for the semifinal against Fluminense, and the team is ready to be the overall champion. Our team deserves it; we've been working so hard for several years, so much so that we've achieved so much, and the guys deserve congratulations," the athlete said.

Evergrande Cup champion in China, the striker made a point of highlighting the participation of athletes born in 2002, playing in the under-16 category, and who did their job in Rio de Janeiro, helping to keep Fla at the top of the state competition, while the under-17 team was out of the country. 

"Anyone who plays for Flamengo lives for titles. Even in futsal, you've got to feel that taste of a title; the fans demand it so much. There's nothing to say about the 2001 team, a very hard-working team. There's also the 2002 team, which stayed here working when we traveled. Our team deserves congratulations, and I can only thank them for everything," celebrated Lázaro.

After winning the Guanabara Cup, the Ninho Boys are now seeking the state title. Flamengo and Fluminense face off in the Carioca semifinal on the 13th. The time and location are yet to be determined by the Rio de Janeiro State Football Confederation (FERJ).

Before that, attention will be focused on the category's Copa do Brasil. This Tuesday (2), Fla visits Londrina, at 15 pm, for the first leg of the first phase.
