This Saturday, Flamengo's under-20 team won another derby and secured an important title. By defeating Botafogo again, repeating the 3-1 score achieved in the first leg, the "Mais Querido" (The Most Beloved) team won the category's Taça Rio for the second year in a row.

Lucas Silva, who scored the winning goal, celebrated the result and praised the team's attitude.

"It's a wonderful achievement. We've been working toward this goal, and today the team showed what Flamengo is all about. They showed humility. We've been working with this humility, and God willing, we'll come away with positive results in the next games against Botafogo, the Guanabara Cup champions," said the striker.

Coach Gilmar Popoca analyzed the victory and said he was satisfied with the performance.

"We on the coaching staff are very happy with their performance in the final. We played a very organized game and displayed great quality. That's something I prioritize. Once again, they deserved it. It was a tough game. We're already preparing for the grand final, which starts on Wednesday. Let's let them know that we won the Rio Cup against a team that was undefeated. We're only thinking about the Rio title. That's all they care about, and we want it very much. We're very confident that the second championship will come," he projected.

Gilmar, who took over the team during the championship, did not hide his joy at working with the players and thanked them for the welcome he received after moving up from the under-17 category.

"The boys embraced me in a way I didn't even expect. I just want to say thank you. Some of them were my athletes in the youth and under-13 teams, and they embraced me in an impressive way. We have to work with a lot of love, affection, and respect - and they understood that," he said.
