On the hot morning of this Saturday (19), at Estádio da Gávea, Flamengo faced Boavista in the 8th Round of the Taça Guanabara and left the field with 3 more points in the championship classification table, now totaling 16 points. The goal of the game was scored by Ryan Roberto, in the 35th minute of the final stage.

The game

Facing Boavista, who played a more defensive team, Flamengo's first big chance came from Douglas Telles, who hit the post in the 12th minute after a cross from Germano. The ball then fell to Pedro Leão, who was surrounded by opposing defenders and ended up shooting wide. 

At 22, Flamengo's new arrival, with a cross from Daniel Sales from the right looking for Alan Santos in the area, but the opposing goalkeeper managed to deflect the ball with his fingertips.

The team managed to control Boavista's attacking play, continued to create chances, and gave the opponent few opportunities to score. In the 41st minute, another attempt followed a beautiful play by Flamengo, who exchanged passes between Boavista's defenders, and Pedro Leão's shot once again narrowly missed the post.

After the break, Flamengo continued with the same attacking style as the first half, but continued to fail to convert their chances. In the 25th minute, another promising opportunity for the Ninho kids: Ryan Roberto found Guilherme, whose shot was saved by the goalkeeper.

In the 35th minute, Flamengo finally found its goal, with Ryan Roberto, who came from the right and, in an individual move, beat the defender and fired a shot into the right corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. The match was now open.

Now trailing on the scoreboard, Boavista needed to attack to get the result and even had chances at the end of the match, but Mengão remained solid in defense and managed to hold the advantage until the end of the game.

Flamengo now has 16 points in the competition, with five wins, one draw, and two losses. The U-20 Garotos do Ninho's next match in the Guanabara Cup will be against Sampaio Corrêa, next Saturday at 15 p.m. at the Saferj Training Center in Guaratiba.
