Another one on Douglas Baggio's account
Flamengo draws 1-1 with Botafogo in the classic with a goal from the striker, who is close to the top scorer
By Communication - Official Club Website - inOn the morning of last Sunday (09.03), Flamengo went to CEFAT for the classic against Botafogo, for the U-20 Carioca Championship. In the 1-1 draw, the red-black goal was scored by Douglas Baggio, a striker who already has nine goals in the competition, two behind top scorer Marlon, from Nova Iguaçu.
After conceding a goal to Alvinegro at the beginning of the match, Mais Querido went in search of an equalizer and managed to score from a penalty kick taken by Douglas, the team's official taker.
"At the time, I'm confident where I'm going to take the penalty and end up sending it to the corner where I feel comfortable. But I always practice a lot, since I'm the one taking the penalty. The game was very good for those who watched, but I believe we could have come away with the win. We had more clear chances to score and I even hit the post," says the striker.
Marcelo Buarque's men are now unbeaten in six games. The draw leaves Flamengo in fourth place in the Guanabara Cup with 25 points, within the semifinals. Flamengo trails Vasco by just one less win in the competition, as Vasco has the same number of points. The U-20 boys return to action next Sunday (March 16.03), at 10 am, against Bangu, at the Nivaldo Pereira stadium.
