Mattheus gives Flamengo victory in the U-20 Brazil Cup
A 1-0 result over Portuguesa gives Rubro-Negro the advantage of a draw in the second leg.

Flamengo got off to a great start in the U-20 Brazil Cup. Tonight (September 03.09rd) at Canindé Stadium in São Paulo, the team defeated Portuguesa 1-0, with a goal scored by Mattheus. To advance to the next stage, the Mais Querido only needs a draw in the second leg.
Flamengo's number 7 scored in the first half. In the second half, goalkeeper Luan shone. On two occasions, he saved Flamengo with sensational saves.
"I'm here to spoil the fun of football," the goalkeeper joked. "I've been working hard and playing well. There are still a lot of matches left in this Copa do Brasil. We'll work hard to bring the title back to Gávea," he added.
The return game will be played on Wednesday (11.09) next week, at 16:30 pm, at the Claudio Moacyr de Azevedo Stadium, Moacyrzão, in Macaé.
