Mattheus was the main name of the under-20 team in the 3-2 victory over Grêmio Osasco, on the afternoon of this Thursday (15.08), at the Uni-BH field, in Belo Horizonte. The midfielder scored all of the red-black goals in the match that marked the beginning of the Taça BH.

"I'm very happy. I thank God and all my teammates. Congratulations to everyone, and we couldn't have had a better debut. I hadn't played in a game for a long time. It's impossible to return to an official match in better form. It was great to start the Taça BH with a victory, but it was just the debut and there's still a lot to come," said the night's top scorer.

Encouragement in adversity

The pitch didn't help Flamengo, which has a very technical team. "The pitch was bad, and we could practically only play with aerial balls," complained striker Igor Sartori. It's no surprise that Mattheus scored two headed goals and an Olympic goal. "We used the circumstances of the game as an incentive," Mattheus explained.

Flamengo is in group B and will play again at 13:30 pm next Saturday (17.08), at Arena do Jacaré, in Sete Lagoas, against Atlético/MG.
