Best on the field, Flamengo U-17 draws with Fluminense in the Carioca semifinal
The Ninho Boys dominate the classic from start to finish. A draw pushes the playoff spot to the second game.

In a classic valid for the first leg of the semifinal of the Campeonato Carioca Sub-17 played on the rainy afternoon of this Friday (28), in Gávea, Flamengo largely dominated the game, but drew 0x0 with Fluminense. The unfair draw takes the decision of the place in the final of Carioca - and also in the Copa do Brasil 2023 - to next Wednesday (02/11), in Xerém. The Garotos do Ninho will need to win the game by any score.
The game
Mengão started pressing. In the fourth minute, Daniel Sales saw Daniel's speedy pass, and he fired a powerful first-time shot into the net from the outside. In the ninth minute, Daniel Sales passed to Felipe Lima, who fired a first-time shot over the Tricolor goal. Flamengo was far superior. In the 34th minute, Jonathan received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a powerful shot, which was superbly saved by goalkeeper Antonio.
The Mais Querido kept pressing and looked to open the scoring in the first half. In the 37th minute, Felipe Lima hit a cross-shot, and the ball exploded into the rave. On the rebound, Eduardo Gabriel unleashed a bomb, and the ball sailed past Antonio's post.
Fluminense only threatened for the first time 12 minutes into the second half, when João Lourenço struck a powerful shot that was well saved by goalkeeper Lucas Furtado. Shortly after, rain began to pound Rio de Janeiro's south zone, making the game more physical. With midfielder Daniel's red card in the 35th minute of the second half, the chances diminished, and the final spot was decided in the second leg in Xerém.
