In the sixth round of the Guanabara U-17 Cup, Flamengo beat Botafogo 3-1 on Friday afternoon (17), at CEFAT. The Rubro-Negro's goals were scored by Petterson (twice) and Vinícius. With the result, Mengão remains undefeated and at the top of the competition.

The game
The derby started off quite lively, with scoring opportunities for both sides. With the majority of possession, Flamengo exchanged passes in the attacking half and put pressure on Botafogo. But it was the black and white team who took the lead in the 21st minute through Vargas, after a quick counterattack: 1-0.

Trailing, the Garotos do Ninho tried to attack, but were met by Botafogo's strong marking. In the final minute of the first half, goalkeeper Dyogo made an excellent save to prevent the home team's second goal. In a performance well below par, Flamengo went into halftime trailing.

In the first minute of the second half, Mengão leveled the score. Victor Hugo made a great play in midfield, advanced into the box, and passed the ball to Petterson, who simply tapped it into the back of the net: 1-1. The Boys from the Nest came back with a different attitude and began to dominate the action.

The red-and-blacks' comeback came in the 26th minute. Victor Hugo delivered a beautiful pass to Petterson, who burst into the box and fired a shot into the goalkeeper's corner to make it 2-1. In stoppage time, Mengão added a third! Vinícius, who had just come on, made a great run down the left side of the box and fired a shot. The ball gently went into the net, making it 3-1.

Another great victory for Mais Querido, who continues with a 100% success rate and in sole leadership of the Taça Guanabara.

Next appointment
Mengão's U-17 team returns to the field next Wednesday (22) to face Cruzeiro, at 16 pm, in Belo Horizonte. The game is valid for the category's Copa do Brasil.
