In the last round of the Flamengo adidas Cup, presented by Indrive, the Garotos do Ninho beat Santos Laguna 3-1 on Saturday morning (14), at CT George Helal, and qualified for the semifinals of the competition. Ryan Roberto, Diego and Jhefinho scored for Mengão, who now await their opponent in the next phase. It is worth noting that Mais Querido needed to win by two goals to guarantee the spot.

The game
Needing a win to secure qualification, Flamengo started the match by pressing Santos Laguna in their own half. Seven minutes in, Ryan Roberto was brought down inside the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Flamengo himself stepped up to take the penalty, chipped the ball, and opened the scoring for Mengão: 11-1.

The Ninho Boys extended their lead in the 14th minute! Ryan Roberto made a good play on the left side of the box and passed to Kaio Gomes, who laid it off perfectly for Diego to finish in the corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 2-0.

With a solid lead, the Rubro-Negro continued to dominate the match and continued to create opportunities to extend their lead. The first half ended with the score favoring the team from Gávea.

After the break, Flamengo continued to attack, looking for a third goal. Santos Laguna, in turn, began to come out more. In the 29th minute, Ryan Roberto received the ball at the edge of the box and shot toward goal. The goalkeeper made the save.

At the 34th minute, Santos Laguna pulled one back and scored their first goal of the match: 2-1. But Mengão was brave and scored the third in stoppage time. João Vitor was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Captain Jhefinho took the shot and found the net. With the 3-1 score, the Garotos do Ninho secured their place in the tournament semifinals.
