In the debut of the Copa Rio Sub-15, Flamengo thrashed Volta Redonda 5-0 on Saturday afternoon (22), in Gávea. The goals for the Garotos do Ninho were scored by Lorran (2), Eduardo, Felipe and Bill, from a penalty, at the end of the second half.
The game
Flamengo started the match strongly and, just three minutes in, opened the scoring! After a one-two with Pedrinho, Lorran found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and slotted home: 1-0. Even ahead on the scoreboard, the red-and-black team continued to impose their rhythm and try to extend their lead.
In the 25th minute, the Red-Blacks threatened to attack. Leonardo received the ball inside the box and shot, but the goalkeeper made a good save. Edmilson then passed it to Bil inside the box, who fired over the bar. Defensively, the Red-Blacks' defense proved solid and managed to keep out Volta Redonda's dangerous moves. With complete control of the game, the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) went into halftime ahead.
Flamengo returned for the second half eager to score a second goal. Volta Redonda's team was deep in the second half, waiting to counterattack. In the 18th minute, Flamengo doubled their lead! After a corner kick, the ball fell to Lorran, who crossed into the six-yard box for Eduardo to head home: 2-0.
In the 25th minute, Flamengo scored their third! After a beautiful play down the left, Felipe received the ball inside the box, cut past his defender, and fired a shot into the back of the net: 3-0. Then, another for Flamengo! Lorran, in a beautiful play inside the box, simply displaced the goalkeeper to score his second goal of the match and Mengão's fourth: 4-0.
And there was still time for a fifth! Bill scored with skill from the penalty spot to seal the red-and-black victory in the debut of the U-15 Rio Cup: 5-0.
