Mengão U-20 returns to the field for the Brasileirão of the category this Wednesday (17), against Corinthians, in São Paulo, at 15:30 pm. Rubro-Negro tries to return to winning ways in the national competition and return to the classification zone for the knockout stage. The match against the São Paulo team will be at the Água Santa stadium, Arena Inamar, in Diadema and will be broadcast by SporTV.

The reigning Brazilian and Libertadores champions, Flamengo's U-20s are adapting to the work of Filipe Luís, who is in his fifth game as coach. Their latest victory under the coach's watchful eye has boosted their confidence as they seek a positive result in the Brasileirão. Last Saturday, the "Garotos do Ninho" (the "Ninho Boys") came from behind to beat Botafogo 3-2 (with goals from Guilherme, Wallace Yan, and Zé Welinton), demonstrating their fierce competitive spirit and defending their unbeaten run in the Taça Guanabara (six games unbeaten and the outright leader).

However, the challenge of winning the Brasileirão for the third time is not easy. Flamengo faces Corinthians in São Paulo, and their recent record is not positive: three losses in the teams' last U-20 meetings. Despite this, the overall head-to-head record in the category favors Flamengo. In 19 matches, Flamengo has six wins and four draws. Away from home, Mengão also has the advantage, with three wins, one draw, and two losses.

"We're going to go for the win, get back to fighting at the top of the table and win again in the Brazilian Championship. In the Carioca we're 100%, but in the national championship we're lacking a bit," said full-back Zé Welinton about his expectations for the next game, after training at Palmeiras' training center on Tuesday morning (16). The full-back added that the victory could give the team more confidence:

"Definitely! Especially here, away from home, against a rival of ours, who usually competes with us at the top. I think that's the mentality: to come here to win and return home with the three points," he concluded.

Currently with 19 points, Flamengo is in 9th place, outside the eight teams that qualify for the next stage. A victory over Corinthians will put Mengão back in the qualifying zone. Keep going, Ninho Boys!
