It's champion! With a flawless 100% record, Flamengo's U-16 team performed well and defeated Palmeiras 1-0 this Saturday (2), at the Ernesto Volk Stadium in Rio Grande do Sul, winning the Copa Gramado. Lorran, who came on as a substitute in the second half, scored the winning goal for the red-and-black team. With the result, Mengão was crowned champion with five wins in five games. This was the Mais Querido's 15th youth title of the season.   

The game
Flamengo started the match by pressing Palmeiras's attacking play, and in the fourth minute, they created their first good opportunity. Adriel received the ball on the left, cut inside, and fired a low shot. The ball sailed just wide of the post.

The Ninho Boys held possession longer, exchanging passes in the attacking half. Palmeiras, in turn, also threatened Lucas Furtado's goal when they did attack. The first half, which was very even, ended in a goalless draw.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to attack in search of the first goal. In the third minute, Adriel again made a good play, this time from the right, cutting inside and shooting into the corner. The ball went out of bounds. In the 24th minute, Flamengo opened the scoring! Lorran stole the ball inside the box, dribbled past the goalkeeper, and tapped it into the back of the net: 1-0.

In the final stretch, the red-and-black team managed to manage the result very well and won the Gramado U-16 Cup! This was the 15th trophy lifted by Flamengo's youth team this season.
