In the second leg of the Carioca Sub-15 semifinal, Flamengo drew 0-0 with Vasco on Saturday morning (11), in Gávea, and secured a place in the tournament final. With a better campaign in the first phase, Mais Querido had the advantage of a draw, as the first leg also ended all square.
The game
The derby started with a well-thought-out approach, with Flamengo looking to quickly exchange passes in attack. The red-and-blacks' first good chance came in the ninth minute. Ryan Roberto's free kick from the edge of the box hit the crossbar.
The red-and-black team created another good opportunity in the 30th minute. Jhefinho delivered a great pass to Ryan Pablo in the box, and the striker shot past the goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Ryan Roberto came down the left, cut inside, and struck a shot. The ball hit the crossbar again. The first half ended goalless.
In the second half, the game remained fiercely contested, with both teams fighting for possession. It's worth noting that with the draw, Flamengo advances to the final, as the first leg ended in a draw. Having performed better in the first stage, the "Garotos do Ninho" (The Boys of the Nest) have this advantage.
In the 20th minute, goalkeeper Paulo made a great save to prevent Vasco from scoring. In the final stretch, the Red-Blacks held on to the result and qualified for the State Championship final. The Boys from the Nest will face Fluminense in the final.
