In the 8th round of the Brasileirão U-20, Flamengo beat Ceará 2-0 this Saturday morning (30), in Gávea. Mengão's goals were scored by Mateusão ​​and Werton. With the result, in addition to qualifying early for the next phase of the championship, the Garotos do Ninho added 17 points and provisionally took the lead in Group A.

The game
Flamengo started the match valuing possession and looking to exchange passes in the attacking sector. In the eighth minute, Mengão opened the scoring with a beautiful goal. Zé Welinton delivered a great pass to Mateusão, who came one-on-one with the goalkeeper and chipped the ball over the top to score a stunning goal: 1-0.

Trailing and needing to earn points, Ceará began to threaten goalkeeper Kauã's goal more. Coach Mario Jorge made a tactical change. Werton moved to the left wing and Petterson to the right. The first half ended with Ceará in the lead.

After halftime, the game became very tight, with intense competition for possession. In the 7th minute, after a ball was lofted into the box, Mateusão ​​headed it, but Ceará's defense managed to clear it. In the 12th minute, Mengão extended their lead! Werton received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a powerful shot. The ball deflected off the defenders and over the goalkeeper: 2-0.

After the ball went out, Mateusão ​​received the ball inside the box and shot hard, but the ball went wide. In the closing stages, the red-and-black team continued to push for more goals and create a few chances. In the 40th minute, Mateusão ​​tried to collect the rebound inside the box and was brought down, but the referee waved play on.

With complete control of the game, the Garotos do Ninho achieved a comfortable victory and secured early qualification for the next stage of the Brasileirão Sub-20.
