In the second leg of the Carioca Sub-20 quarterfinals, Flamengo thrashed Madureira 4-0 on Thursday morning (2), in Gávea. Mengão's goals were scored by André, Lázaro, João Pedro (own goal) and Thiaguinho. With the result, the Garotos do Ninho secured their place in the championship semifinals and await their opponent, who will come out of the clash between Resende and Botafogo.

The game
The Ninho Boys started the match looking to attack. Four minutes in, Mengão threatened for the first time. André found João Pedro free on the left, who beat him with speed and fired a cross-shot. The ball sailed just wide of the post.

In the 10th minute, Noga launched a ball into the box, Lázaro caught it first time, and the goalkeeper made a good save. Deep into the game, the red-and-black team pressed Madureira in their own half, looking for the first goal. The Tricolor Suburbano, on the other hand, adopted a more defensive stance and relied on counterattacks.

In the 16th minute, Lázaro was fouled in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. The number 10 took the kick, displacing the goalkeeper, but the ball ended up hitting the post. Ten minutes later, Max made a good individual play and passed to André, who beat the Madureira defense, and the ball went out for a corner.

In the 41st minute, the Mais Querido opened the scoring! Daniel Cabral lifted the ball into the box and André headed it into the back of the net: 1-0. The Garotos do Ninho went into the break ahead.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to value possession and dominate the attacking half. In the 18th minute, Mengão extended their lead! Lázaro made a great individual play, freed himself from his marker, and fired a low shot into the goalkeeper's right corner: 2-0.

And Flamengo wanted more! In the 27th minute, André arrived on the right edge of the penalty area and crossed. João Pedro tried to clear the ball and ended up heading it into his own net: 3-0. It didn't take long for Mengão to score the fourth. In the 35th minute, Thiaguinho received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a powerful shot into the corner to seal the red-and-black rout: 4-0.

Now, Rubro-Negro awaits its opponent in the semifinal, which will be decided by the clash between Resende and Botafogo.
