With grit and talent, Flamengo beats Bonsucesso
U-15 and U-17 teams maintain their good form in the Campeonato Carioca
By Nathan Mello - inIn a double round played on Saturday morning (30), in Gávea, for the 14th round of the Guanabara Cup, Flamengo won both matches against Bonsucesso. Fla's U-15 team won 3 x 1, with goals from João Vitor (2) and Oliveira. The U-17 team beat the red-and-blue team 6 x 0, with goals from Rodrigo Muniz (2), Yuri (2), Rhyan and Ítalo.
The U-15 team, which is also competing in the Copa 2 de Julho in Bahia, remains undefeated in the Carioca Championship, leading the competition with 29 points. The U-17 team also maintains its excellent form in the competition, holding third place with 35 points. In the next round, the U-17 team faces Vasco da Gama on July 07th. The U-15 team faces the same opponent, but only on July 28th.
The under-15:
The first half started evenly, but both teams struggled to finish. In the 11th minute, Bonsucesso had its first good chance of the match. Natan made a great run down the left, left two defenders behind, cut inside, and shot, threatening goalkeeper Igor Jectan. In the 23rd minute, it was Bonsucesso's turn to attack. After a good exchange of passes at the edge of the box, Peterson took a chance, but the ball flew just wide of Rhenan's right post. A precise pass then found Ratinho free inside the box to open the scoring for Bonsuça. Flamengo 0-1 Bonsucesso. Ratinho was in high spirits. The under-17:
Flamengo started by pressing the opponent heavily in their own half, leaving no room for counterattacks. With Bonsucesso defensively locked in, they were left with mid- and long-range shots, which is how Flamengo got their chance in the 14th minute. Lucas Gabriel received the ball in midfield and took a chance from there. The ball went wide to the left of Bruno's goal. The persistence of this play led Flamengo to open the scoring through Rodrigo Muniz. The number 7 received the ball at the edge of the box and fired a well-placed shot. The opposing goalkeeper couldn't stop it. Flamengo 1-0 Bonsucesso. Despite the advantage, Flamengo didn't change their stance. Pressure was maintained in the opponent's half with quick positional changes. In the 29th minute, Rhyan was awarded a penalty by the Bonsucesso goalkeeper. Yuri stepped up to take the penalty and doubled the score. Flamengo 2-0 Bonsucesso. Flamengo was very aggressive on the offensive end and applied excessive pressure. Then, in the 34th minute, Braian cut inside and crossed into the box. Rhyan challenged the defender, and the ball fell to Rodrigo Muniz, who scored his second of the match and Flamengo's third. Four minutes later, Gomes found Yuri driving into the box. The number 10 calmly found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and only had to choose a corner. There was still time for another, in a very similar play, but this time with Muniz running in. The number 7 received the ball, beat the goalkeeper, but ended up shooting wide. The second half began much the same way the first ended, with Flamengo aggressively pushing the opposition forward, leaving them no room to breathe. Just two minutes in, João Gabriel passed to Rhyan, who pivoted, turned, and fired over the goal. Just before the timeout, in the 2th minute, Yuri skillfully took a free kick over the wall, finding Rhyan free to score Flamengo's fifth goal of the match. Despite the blazing sun at Gávea, the "Garotos do Ninho" (Nest Boys) were in perfect shape. In the 19st minute, João Gabriel took a shot from long range, almost from the edge of the box, and the ball hit the crossbar, posing a serious threat to goalkeeper Bruno. It drew a "woohoo!" from the stadium. The crowd, of course, wanted more. In the 21st minute, Marcos Felipe put the ball on Lázaro's head, who headed it brilliantly, but the goalkeeper saved. In the 31st minute, the goal came that sealed the rout. Full-back Ítalo received the ball at the edge of the box and unleashed a beautiful shot from distance. The match ended. Flamengo 41-6 Bonsucesso.
