Flamengo's youth team remains undefeated in the Carioca Championship. But to secure their third consecutive victory in the competition, coach Armênio Moura's team had to work hard. The team from Gávea fell behind in the match against Bangu in Moça Bonita, but with goals from Juninho and Dudu, they fought back and earned three more points in the first round of the state championship.

The intense heat, typical of the west zone neighborhood, didn't hamper the young Flamengo talents. However, the condition of the pitch did. The Moça Bonita field wasn't in ideal playing condition, but Flamengo remained calm, and the players' technical quality made all the difference. After going into the locker room with the score 1-0 down, Juninho equalized in the second half, and in the 40th minute of the second half, Galhardo took a free kick into the box, and Dudu—a standout for Flamengo in the São Paulo Junior Cup—who had come on for Diego Maurício, took advantage to turn the score around.

"It was a tough match, we fell behind on the scoreboard, the pitch wasn't very good, but we stayed calm, we breathed, we kept our heads in the game, and then we managed to score the second goal at the end of the second half. It was an important victory and it helps us stay in the lead, and that's what matters," analyzed right-back Rafael Galhardo.

Next Wednesday, Flamengo faces Americano de Campos. The match was initially scheduled for Gávea, but since the two teams also face each other in the professional league, the game could be moved to Maracanã.
