Flamengo's youth team defeated Bangu this Wednesday at Arthur Sendas Stadium 4-1 and took the lead in Group B of the Rio Cup. With two goals from Thomás, one from Samir, and one from Digão, the Gávea youth team remains 100% in the competition and has a goal difference one better than Fluminense, who are second in the group.
Coach Cleber dos Santos' team played well, and Pablo Andrade's entry in place of Romário changed the complexion of the game. The Red-Blacks played with Luan, Digão, Fernando, Samir, and Felipe Dias; Recife (Renato Maceió), Lorran, and Quiroga; Thomás, Igor Sartori (Renan Donizete), and Romário (Pablo Andrade).
In the next round, Flamengo will face Audax, this Saturday, in Gávea, for the fourth round of the U-20 Rio Cup.
