In the second phase of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, Flamengo beat Náutico 1-0 on Thursday night (13), at Arena Barueri. In the dying minutes, Igor Jesus hit a great shot from outside the area and sealed the victory for Mengão. Now, the Mais Querido will face Oeste again in the next phase of the Copinha.
The game
The match began with both teams closely studying each other and exchanging passes. The red-and-black team's first good attack came in the eighth minute. Victor Hugo received the ball outside the box and unleashed a shot that was saved by goalkeeper Bruno. Little by little, the Ninho Boys grew in the game and began to dominate the attacking field.
In the 14th minute, Kayke David received the ball on the left and struck a powerful shot. The goalkeeper palmed it away for a corner. Flamengo had ample possession and moved well in attack, looking for space in Náutico's defense. In the 38th minute, Victor Hugo fed a beautiful ball to Petterson, who received it freely and struck hard. Bruno made a great save on Flamengo's best chance of the match. Flamengo dominated the first half and almost took the lead.
Flamengo came out swinging in the second half and, less than a minute in, nearly opened the scoring. Petterson received the ball on the left, passed it to Pedro Arthur, who rolled it into the middle. Kayke David shot over the marker. In the 10th minute, Petterson again arrived on the left, cut inside, and shot with his left foot. The goalkeeper saved.
The Ninho Boys pushed forward to make it difficult for Náutico to get the ball out of play, which then pushed the ball into the attacking half. In the 16th minute, the red-and-black goalkeeper made a spectacular save, preventing Timbu from scoring. Náutico also pushed forward, and the match opened up with opportunities being created by both sides.
In the 33rd minute, Samuel arrived from the right and crossed into the box. Pedrinho, who had just come on, headed dangerously. Mengão fought until the end and was rewarded with the winning goal in the 49th minute. Richard took a throw-in into the box, the defense cleared, and Igor Jesus unleashed a rocket first time. The ball deflected off the defense and into the goalkeeper's left corner, giving Flamengo the victory: 1-0.
Next appointment
The Garotos do Ninho return to the field next Saturday (15) to face Oeste, at Arena Barueri, at 19:30 pm, for the third phase of the Copinha.
